Now we have received many questions on Instagram recently regarding fresh herbs!
What herbs do guinea pigs like? Can guinea pigs eat basil, can guinea pigs eat cilantro or parsley, what is the favorite fresh herbs loved by Phenix and King? What are safe herbs for guinea pigs? Can I give fresh herbs to my pig? And so, on
So, I decided to make a short video showing you the top 6 fresh herbs I give to Phenix and King, which are safe for guinea pigs and they generally love!

• Basil
• Cilantro
• Parsley
• Rosemary
• Savory
• Thyme
Of course, these little creatures all have their preferences just as us humans, so it might differ for every Piggie! I know Dill is also a favorite treat of piggies too!
As a reminder, Guinea pigs’ diet should be made mostly of hay and veggies, with ideally some grain less pellets. Fresh herbs can be high in calcium, so it might be wise to 1/ introduce them slowly in a diet and 2/ give only a little and not every day.
