PREVENTATIVE You want to repeat Ivermectin treatments every 3 months or so. It prevents lice, mites and internal parasites. Even if your guinea pigs are not in touch with others they can still get these parasites. They lie dormant and will activate when the animal is under the weather, aging or under stress.
You can either put a drop on the ear of the injectable Ivermectin (though you don’t inject it just a pea sized drop on the outer skin of the ear) This is a great method if you have a lot of animals
You can use a horse wormer paste that contains Ivermectin and put a pea sized amount in their mouth. This is more economical if you have a small herd.

TREATMENT Day one, pea sized amount in the mouth Day 4 pea size amount in the mouth and from there repeat once a week for 3 weeks.

TREATMENT Day one, drop on the ear. Day 4 drop on the ear and from there once a week for 3 weeks.
