Greta my disabled guinea pig.

I run a rescue and I was given a pregnant sow -Gem- and a 6 week old Guinea pig -Gabriella- that I presume was from her last litter. Gem gave birth to 3 beautiful pups, Gerald, Gertrude and Gerald. However Greta was born with something wrong with her legs, she couldn't walk on them so just dragged them behind. I was really worried and thought she wouldn't make it but she did! I designed her cage so she can get around easily and still be with her family. She loved attention and would chirp the loudest I've ever heard, she also adored her food! Her skin was pretty scurffy. After ruling at mites I brought some special shampoo and cream I bathed her every other day to get rid of any wee from her legs and make her skin feel better. A friend of mine made her a wheelchair and was on it's way in the post however Greta got very ill and was showing signs of complications she started to have fits. So when she was only 7 week old I had to put her to sleep as the vets said they couldn't help her. I'm heartbroken but this is outcome of irresponsible breeding. Poor Greta was a result of inbreeding because some person couldn't be bothered to research enough about how they are kept. DON'T BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER ANIMALS DIE.
