My friend, Jason of Camelot Hills (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwag3nWSC_V5EY2SeWj9kGA) uses a DIY hay rack to feed his goats when they are out and about for goat shows. He made a great video showing you how to make it, so go check it out. In this video I brag about the fact that I have the one he built in that video, which my goats now happily eat out of. Thanks Jason!
Basically, you take some welded wire fencing and cut it to the right width and bend it in such a way as to make a pocket deep enough for a flake of hay and with enough excess to bend so that it can rest over a fence top rail. Then, use a clip to attach the pocket to the piece that went behind the fence, so the goats cannot knock it off.
It's easy and simple and can be made with scrap material. How awesome is that.
