What do we do when our super sweet Nigerian Pygmy cross doesn’t want to feed her new twin babies born here two days ago! They are withering and now we have to rescue these kids! SADIE PEPPER. Is our bottle baby we raised for the last year and half from four days old. She accidentally mated with our Nigerian dwarf buck oatmeal our oldest son LUKAS locked her in the pen with oatmeal he said she needs babies too mom. We mated oatmeal ( our nigerian dwarf buck stud) earlier that Fall with Sunday our papered Nigerian. She is mothering triplets right now they are 7 weeks old and she’s a great mom.
But since Sadie was raised by humans she isn’t doing so well as a mom!
So before we see these twins wither away. I’ve tried it all locking Sadie in close quarters with her babies (she breaks out), milking her (she’s dry and has very very little milk), she has grain minerals alfalfa you name it.
Before these babies get any thinner I’ve made up the same recipe we used to raise Sadie here it is !
Goats bottle baby recipe
1 dollar store bottle with nipples cut bigger
1 gallon whole milk
2 cups butter milk
1 can evaporated milk
Remove 3 cups of milk from jug ass the whole buttermilk and full fat evaporated milk to gallon jug and shake
Warm before serving. Keep refrigerated between uses
This concoction provides enough nutrients for the baby goat to make it to a successful life. I’m hoping they get enough of the colostrum
