Urinary calculi are a serious issue for many individuals who raise sheep and goats, specifically in male bucks and rams. Due to an imbalance in phosphorus and calcium, many male goats and sheep are at high risk to develop urinary calculi. The best treatment for urinary calculi is to prevent them from forming in the first place; this is easy to do by simply adding limestone to the feed! Don't lose money with sick animals or expensive vet bills! Watch this video first!
We add one pound of limestone to 50 pounds of feed on our farm with good results. We coat our feed in a small amount of molasses prior to the addition of the limestone to ensure it sticks evenly to the feed and cannot be inhaled by the animals.
