How to Bottle Feed Baby Goat Kids

Dislike 0 Published on 13 May 2016

Here is the proper way to hold a baby bottle to feed baby goat kids. The neck on the goat needs to be extended as they would do naturally when they are feeding on their mother so that they do not choke or the milk does not go into the wrong stomach (they have 4 stomachs).

We bottle feed all our babies so that they bond with humans and are not afraid of people.

Our babies are known for being loving, friendly, happy and healthy. See our video on Baby Goats Dance to Lord of the Dance:

The milk should be heated (you can do it in a microwave) to 103-106 degrees F. (the mother's temperature). Just use a candy or kitchen digital thermometer to make sure that the milk is the right temperature and not too hot (you don't want to burn the babies).

We use puppy bottles for our Nigerian Dwarf goats because they are smaller and more natural for the kids, than the traditional "Pritchard" goat nipple. (And the puppy bottle are easier to clean and cheaper too!)
