It has been a very busy start to the breeding year for Yorkshire based boer goat breeders Whalandaw Boer Goats.
It all started on the 7th January when our foundation doe boer goat Ruby gave birth to triplets. Over the next couple of weeks the rest of the four does followed suit and in total produced 9 healthy South African Boer Goat kids. The 4 boer goat does delivered 8 females and 1 male kid. A single kid from one of our first time mums, a set of twins and a first for us 2 sets of triplets.
Our foundation doe boer goat Ruby was the first to give birth on the 7th of January. Ruby gave birth to the first set of triplets. The triplets were all healthy does, and after some colustrum from mum settled down for a snooze.
Following on from Ruby, on the 12th January our boer goat doe Lola gave birth to a set of twins, a male kid and a female kid. Then our new mom Whalandaw Raquelle gave birth to her very first kid, another female kid. Finally our doe Letty gave us the second set of triplets, 3 more female kids.
All the kids were quickly dried off and fed and are now healthy and growing every day.
We invested in a new Champion boer goat buck in July 2014, Imminent Force. Imminent Force took first place for the boer goat class 3 buckling over 1 year under 2 years section and was the champion adult male at the Malvern Royal Three Counties Show in July 2014.
As Imminent Force sired all of the does we are hoping that he will have sired some winning boer goat kids for this year’s round of shows.
