You can feed your horned lizard harvester ants. It needs around 100 ants a day. Apart from this, you can even feed the lizard grasshoppers, spiders and beetles.
If you are looking for a low maintenance pet, then the blue belly lizard is perfect for you. This lizard is also known as western fence lizard and can provide you with hours of entertainment. The lizard needs a temperature of around 80 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and around 75 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit during the night. You can easily feed this lizard ants, wax worms, bugs, spiders and crickets.
If you have kids, then think about getting a leopard gecko, water dragon or bearded dragon as not all lizards are ideal pets for children. Make sure you teach your kids how to take care of the lizard and supervise them in the beginning to ensure they handle them correctly.
