PETE ROSE hit it right out of the ballpark with this funny story about betting on horses.
There's never a dull moment when you talk to Pete. During my interview with him in September, he was always engaging, sharp witted, and passionate not only about baseball but life in general. His knowledge of the game, including highlights and statistics and all of the great players and managers up to now, is hard to match. As one of his lifelong fans, it was a pleasure and honor to sit across the table from him and talk about his life and current plans.
