Adopted Guinea Pigs "Smile" for the Camera

Dislike 0 Published on 31 Aug 2007

This is a film made by one of our shelter volunteers, of adoption photo sessions at Wee Companions Small Animal Adoption in San Diego, California. The smiles and expressions you see were made in Photoshop.

This film has been "modified with smiles" for viewers, because all the shelter animals shown here were later made happy for having been adopted into loving permanent homes.

Before we rescued them, these animals were injured, homeless, neglected, and/or abused. Our volunteer staff nursed them back to health, and then placed them up for adoption. All too often these happy endings are not the case.

Abandoned animals are everywhere nowadays. It is no joke, and is very sad, indeed.

Can you help? Yes ! First, Never bring home a new pet without first considering the commitment involved in owning a new pet. You can view some tips for people who are considering buying a new pet, which can be seen at our YouTube channel, http://www.youtube.com/WeeCompanions

If you are ready and able to commit to owning a new pet, information about how you can adopt a small animal can be found at our web site at http://www.weecompanions.com/

Or visit http://m.petfinder.com/ to see our adoptable small animals, as well as others that are available in your local area. By typing in your zip code at PetFinder, they provide a list of animals of many kinds which are available for adoption in your area.

Do you already own guineas? If you have questions about your pets health, we recommend the web site: http://www.guinealynx.info/ , which is an excellent resource of helpful medical information for guinea pig owners.

Important note:
If your pet appears to be injured or sick, call your local veterinarian immediately. Don't wait.

Again, please carefully consider the responsibilities of owning a pet, before purchasing or adopting one. Often, pets need to be rescued from situations where they were not properly cared for, from where their owners became unable to care for them anymore. Owning a pet should be considered an investment for the whole lifetime of the pet. Having to give up a pet is both stressful and heartbreaking for the owner as well as the animals.

Thank you for genuinely caring about animals, and for supporting your local animal shelter.
