Well it’s a cold and wet October morning here on the duck’s morning rush, I won’t be able to go to the lake to get the view of them coming down the creek like I wanted, I’m going to walk with them to the creek.
Dug was so excited this morning to get the ducks out he wanted me to open the gate for them, he was seriously impatient.
The hurt ducks from yesterday had no problem getting home last night, both of them got home with the flock.
Dug doesn’t like the cold water on his feet today, it’s going to take some getting use to it but he will.
I have to get some thing done with my garden today, actually this week I’m going to try and get as much done as possible so I can cut some wood for the fire for the duck cull coming up, I’ve got a lot of wood already but I’m thinking I’m going to need about 10 cords of wood to do 650 ducks over a week long period.
Ducks are once again seriously distracted by the mud on the way to the creek, drilling like little fools instead of focusing going to the lake.
Got some really nice flying action out of the Muscovy females today, some days they just want to fly and some days they don’t.
While I was working in the garden the ducks were sneaking back to the pen for a snack of grain and then going back to the creek once they filled their bellies, it was so funny this basically was going on all afternoon it was a duck train from the creek to the feeder off and on all day.
At the end of the day the ducks came home in 5 different waves, they haven’t come home in a horde formation in weeks.
