Baby Ducks at the Funny Farm

We took in 3 baby ducks we named “Eddy”, “Louie”, and “Dukey”, because someone bought them from stores that shouldn’t sell them and of course ended up not being able to keep them. These 3 are lucky. They have a new home. Most aren’t so lucky.
Please remember baby chicks and ducks are not gifts. We are full in the duck department and so are most rescues so people dump them in ponds and in the woods and they never survive without a mother in the wild. It is illegal to dump animals at a pond or forest or lake at all or even an animal rescue without permission.
This year, for Easter, if your kid wants a baby chick or a baby duck, it’s best to draw one on paper but please don’t buy a real one unless you have a farm and can commit to a lifetime of care and love they deserve. Stores should do an adoption application instead of just selling them to everyone, or not sell them at all.
In the meantime, enjoy these babies from the comfort of your home. Again, they are the lucky ones.
