5;22 am last night’s ducks come home and wake everyone up in the pen, I had no choice but to let everyone out early.
It was so funny they were hungry ducks but once the flock started to head down the lake they turned around and never ended up eating.
We’ve got a serious heat wave here and I thought since yesterday I couldn’t get out on the lake in the afternoon I would go out first thing this morning and canoe with the ducks and share it with you.
Funny thing was the ducks were sleeping on the water at 8am it was like I let them out to early and they were beat by early morning.
The ducks ended up coming back to the yard early, it was just too hot at the lake I guess and they want to stay in the shade in the yard.
Got talking to a friend of mine that is a big time hunter and trapper in the area and I told him what was happening here with the ducks and what happened here last fall with the otters, based on his experience he thinks I’ve got mink or otters hunting the ducks plus we already know about our hawk problem from the dead ducks in the yard and spotting it flying over the property.
