Dandie Dinmont Terrier:
This is Jackson again, our rather eccentric and clever Dandie Dinmont Terrier puppy. This item was filmed when he was about 8 months old. Check out his original game of playing Hockey, well the ever inventive jackson has now taken up a new game - basketball! He has one of those rubber balls with a rope circle and he likes to get hold of it and throw it backwards over his head and get it stuck on a table or chair or worktop then bark for us to retrieve it for him! He still plays his amazing Hockey games, but he is playing more and more Basketball now he is getting older! Watch out for 1min 13sec into the clip when he nearly hits the camera with his toy! I have never seen another dog play quite like this and Jackson is growing up a wonderfully eccentric companion and a lot of fun to have about the house. Dandies are I believe one of the only dog breeds with a genuine sense of humor! He plays literally g=for hours, but not like any other puppie we have ever had or seen, we wonder what he will get up to next!

The Dandie Dinmont Terrier is one of the UK's rarest breeds. They are officially designated by the UK Kennel Club as a "Vulnerable Native Breed" due to their very low numbers. In 2008 there were just 119 puppies born in the UK, Jackson being one of them, compair this to over 45,000 Labradors!
