Sally Lake is a manmade lake constructed by the Department of fisheries, Roing, Lower Dibang Valley District during the year 1975-76, covering an area of around 2.8 hectares fed by a natural stream. The lake is situated at 4km distance from the district headquarter(Roing).
Sally lake is well maintained by the department. Several activities such as stocking of fingerlings, manuring of the lake, feeding of fishes, carried out by the Department of Fisheries.
Poaching is now a problem faced in the lake, several times miscreants poached fishes in the lake.
Indian Penal Code, 1860: Section 428 and Section 429 reads that killing, poaching, maiming, poisoning, or torturing an animal is a cognizable offense and immediately FIR must be lodged in the area police station. The punishment for such an act is rigorous imprisonment which may extend to five years or fine or both.
