Touching fish in the London Aquarium

One of the most popular exhibits at the London Aquarium was this open tank in which these small rays and other fish come and let visitors stroke them. The fish seemed to enjoy it as much as the visitors. I have heard that this feature is no longer available because too much touching caused some fish to lose a surface coating that protects them from parasites, so now it is, "Look, but don't touch".
