Choosing Healthy Food – Fish and Seafood
Fish and seafood are an important source of protein, zinc, iodine and omega-3. Including them into your week can help to reduce your risk of dementia, cardiovascular disease, stroke and macular degeneration.

This section will cover:
- one important health benefit for someone with diabetes how many serves of oily fish to include into your diet each week,
- examples of what oily fish are,
- how to choose a healthy option in the supermarket.

For individual advice on healthy eating guidelines and the amount of carbohydrate to include in an eating plan each day, it is important to seek advice from an Accredited Practising Dietitian.
