Pleco Fish Full Size Length? Plecostomus RANT

Pleco Fish Care and plecostomus Size go hand in hand. The most common reason plecos die is they starve to death in aquariums. Make sure to feed them algae wafers right before the lights go off.

Little rant video on Pleco full size growths. Lol you know, the Common Pleco is just one of those fish people are ignorant to. It doesn't help that fish stores push them like crazy. So many better alternatives like the Bristlenose. On that note, I feel that there are quite a few fish that shouldn't be sold in stores unless the person buying them has the means to take care of it. Hell, I walked into a Pet Supermarket that had a few Sturgeon they were selling. Could you imagine little Jonny talking his dad into getting one for his 10 gallon? It would be awesome if you did like a top 10 video on fish that probably shouldn't be sold in stores. Maybe suggest some alternatives like instead of a common Pleco get a Bristlenose. Instead of a common Goldfish (or Koi for that matter) get an Oranda. Anyways, I enjoy your videos man. Good stuff. https://youtu.be/ET0XCjY2nu0

For plants you'll want planted tank substrate otherwise eventually they will die. I would use Caribsea's Eco-complete or miracle-grow organic potting soil (look up Foo the Flowerhorn on how to use it) with a fine gravel cap and sand over it if you still want sand. I would establish the plants and ecosystem first and once the plants are nice and thick add in the girls (No more than 30 in a tank that size but I honestly wouldnt have more than 15) then you can also have shrimp, snails, cory catfish, otos, Harlequin Rasbora, neon tetras, cloud minnows, ember tetras, kuhli loaches, and clown loaches to name a few. http://plecostomus.org/growth-size/

Most schooling community fish should be fine with sororities, just make sure to keep an eye on aggression and pick girls that will coexist together without any aggressive behaviors. https://youtu.be/_CNGN4DFYLM

Not betta related but I know alot of you have corys. I just saw this cotton like fungus coming out of my corys anus. How do I treat him? Hes in a 75 gallon cycled tank. My QT tank is currently filled . What meds can I use that are safe for him? If youre able to catch em try to gently remove as much as possible. Quarantine the fish in a seperate tank. I dont think salt dips work with cories because of their skin so maybe a fungicide? https://fishinnpost.weebly.com/

I think blue the original tank and use phenoxyethanol or any fungicide on any obviously infected fish. From memory most meth blues advertise as "assisting in treatment" and not actually treating so im a bit hesitant with it. ok I cant catch him so I treated the whole tank with herbal treatment and erythromycin so far, Ill try to catch him in the morning when they are eating and see if I can pull it off. Ill look tomorrow at the petstore for any other fungal meds because Im not sure if erythromycin is strong enough . The only other stuff I have is furan-2 , general cure and ich treatment. Can corys handle a salt dip ?

Apparently cories dont do well with salt but they seem to react way better than most fish to melafix (and assumedly pimafix too). So it seems like that's the way to go.

Should be ok but apparently melafix uses oxygen so you may need to up surface disturbance to keep the tank oxygenated. I swear animals can sense when you wanna medicate them. Hide a tablet in bacon? Nup. Try to fish up a fish to treat? N u p Which of these foods would be best for both betta and adf? Or do adf need something different? I didn't think to flip over to the extended ingredient list for a picture. How do I feed it to them? Thaw in a touch of tank water? And how much per betta and adf? TIA everyone! I'm going to the store but will be back on shortly.

Idk about ADFs but my bettas dont like the emerald entrees so Id leave off on those and the freashwater variety pack. They’re in very small little custers and they’re both annoying to feed and my bettas dont seem to understand they’re food.

As for how much, waaaay smaller than you think they need. I cut slivers off and that’s plenty. You CANNOT refreeze any leftovers. I feed my bettas brine shrimp and bloodworms. I use a bit of hot water to thaw. Brine shrimp I feed with a plastic eye dropper, bloodworms I feed with tweezers. I feed as much as they'll eat in a minute or two.
