The Common Pleco is a variety of different catfish that are very closely related. Most beginners are not aware of the fact that these fish can grow over 12 inches long. You are find a have a smaller aquarium as long as these fish are still somewhat in the juvenile state. Once they start to grow around 9 inches long though you're going to have to really start watching what size aquarium you have as a habitat. http://plecostomus.org/tank-size/

I always advise people to just buy a 55 gallon aquarium as a starter size and move up from there. Seems really hard for people to understand the fact that bigger aquariums are a lot easier to maintain even though they take up a little bit more room in your household. https://youtu.be/ET0XCjY2nu0

These catfish can live up to 20 to 30 years long and that's pretty amazing. If you're looking to purchase one of these common Plecostomus catfish any of your local fish stores will have them. Large chain stores like pet smart and petco will also have Plecos. When you get a little bit more involved you can maybe research what particular species you actually have and get some more in-depth research regarding your type.

A lot of people think these catfish look kind of gross but there is actually a huge community devoted to people that love these fish. There almost a prehistoric looking creature and have in armor shell on the outside of them which makes them look kind of scary. I really enjoyed these fashion that's why I started to create a small community devoted to them. https://www.facebook.com/plecofishkeepers/

Hey guys!
What are some good plants to keep with fancy goldfish? Also, do you know of any good websites/plant breeders that I can buy order them? Thanks for all your help! (picture for attention, not my actual aquarium)
I have 2 calico butterfly tale goldfish, 1 telescope, and 1 asian spotted pleco (though I don't think thats its actual breed name, it's just the name they had called it at my lps. I'm looking for plants that my goldfish either won't eat or ones that with grow faster than they eat it.

Take the wood out and see if ph remains stable , just because it hasn’t happened before doesn’t mean wood isn’t releasing something now , as supply chemistry changes it could be causing a reaction. high phosphates can cause those issues, many things can cause those issues, There is no saying if OP doesnt test, they are asking for suggestions that is mine.

Been having the same problem these past 2 weeks. I have a fluval 206 though with a 55 gal bow front and I think that may be my problem. Although I just redid my filter media last night, added water polishing pads so I'm hoping it resolves the problem. I'll report back if I see any improvement. Do you think my 206 is too small for my bow front? I thought that might have been the problem. I also did a water change Saturday and seemed to temporarily clear up, then it came back as of yesterday and now it seems worse.

I find this only becomes an issue when you have a light that is the wrong spectrum. Your tank is bare bottom which will also reflect the light more, I'd replace the light with a plant light or add something to lessen your lights intensity. Like paper or window film. I'd reduce your light down 6 hours per day. It’s a finnex 24/7 plant light. It’s dimmable and adjustable. I think the high nitrates outta the tap is helping with geeen water production. This is the only tank that I perform massive water changes on.

Added a UV sterilizer I had on another tank. Plus a bag of crushed coral and cuttlefish bone. I’ll update in a few days with a new post. Thanks for the comments and insights. Fingers crossed this resolves itself in a few days. Now I hunt for a large reservoir tank or just do brute trash can on casters. I think it’s your tap water causing the issue in combination with your driftwood...
when u water change use Seachem Prime as it Detoxifies Ammonia & Nitrates ... slightly overdose it .. do 30% water changes morning and again in afternoon for a few days ... remembering to add the prime each time etc.. remove driftwood...
