Simple River Amazon with Neon Tetra Fish!

The Neon Tetra fish is a popular aquarium fish. Bright with neon stripes, they are great pets for beginners. If it’s well taken care of in a home aquarium, it can live up to 10 years, though 5 years is a more common life span. Neon tetras are omnivores in the wild, eat algae, small invertebrates and insect larvae. While in the aquarium, good flake foods are suitable too.
Next, when you set up the aquarium try to mimic the natural Neon Tetra habitat “The River Amazon”. Neon Tetras love lots of plants. So fill in some real plants or fake plants, let the fish love the environment and make your tank looks lively. Also, provide plenty of places to hide, as Neon Tetras love to hide. But take note that there should also be an open area for swimming. Besides, the tank should come with lights. So, that when the lights on, you can enjoy watching the Neon Tetra.
Neon Tetra are peaceful tropical fish and best kept in schools of 6 or more. So why not consider the tankmates. As tetras, don't like to be alone. But remember, do not get fishes that are larger than Neon Tetra as it might large enough to eat them. Try to get some little fishes with different color, your tank will look nice and colorful.
Here are some acceptable tankmates for your Neon Tetra include:
• Other Tetras (of any kind; not necessarily Neon Tetras)
• Cherry Barbs
• Danio Rerio
• Guppy
