Bleeding Heart Tetra Care & Tank Mates

Taking care of the Bleeding Heart Tetra really isn't that that tough. These are community fish that a lot of aquarists don't know about. Can you beat a beautiful tetra fish? I don't think so! I can't get passed how cool these fish are.

I wanna get an air plant holder for my betta, I have seen that many members of this group seem to keep one in the tank, with a moss ball and a little air bubble. My question is: WHAT SIZE? Amazon has 3.15"/8cm ones for $3.99, and 6.3"/16cm ones for $8. As often or non often as you wish
They can be left in the tank until they decompose fully, or you can remove them before they start falling apart. Add more leaves if you want the water a darker color. They are very forgiving and easy to work with, you can't overdose.

I bought my daughter a 1 gallon Betta fish starter kit at Petco. Then I did some looking around and it says they need at least 5 gallons?? Why would they even sell a 1 gallon kit sold specifically for bettas if they aren't meant to live in anything under 5 gallons? So now what should I do, use the 1 gallon or what? It still seems at least 10x bigger than the little container it was sold in.

The thing about ich, so many people don't continue the treatment past the falling off of the 'bumps' which has caused so called strains of super ich to develop. If you do raise your temp make sure you add aeration to the water as hotter Water holds less oxygen. Since you only have one fish left you hardly need to get a quarantine tank, unless you plan on getting more fish in the future for which u will need a qt tank. I would not recommend adding any fish until you have waited at least 4 weeks. Which should ensure any remaining pathogens to die due to a lack of a host.
