Beta Fish Care - PART 1

I change my Beta bowl water each week. The fresh Beta water needs to be "regular" room temperature; so the night before changing, I fill a clean bowl with water, and I add 7 drops of "Beta-Safe" drops, which takes the chlorine out of city water. If you are on well water, you may still want to use a few drops. By the next day, you can switch your Beta Fish to the new bowl without shocking his system. I prefer bowls/containers with more open tops, to allow the Beta better access to oxygen. I also keep bamboo plants in my Beta bowl, as these act as a natural "filter" - and the Beta gives them great fertilizer! Having at least two plant stems crossing within the bowl allows your Beta to SLEEP, as he needs something to "hide" in and rest his body on. In the wild, Beta fish live in shallow water, among grassy plants.
