Guppy Fish Tank Care - Food & Mates

http://amzn.to/2Dj8KJX - Aquarium Guppy Fish tank care is pretty easy and straight forward. Guppies love to breed and be with other tank mates. Sponge Filters work great for guppy fish tanks. They’re easy to clean and guppy tanks usually stay mildly clean and when compared to other fish. Here is a link:

My boyfriend wasnt into the whole aquarium idea. He said he never got fish, and never had a tank before. Stupid pets. He went out today and got ghost shrimp because I mentioned them. We had friends over and he introduced them to each of our fishies individually. He also was just chatting with the Gourami just now. Well... well.

My BF was the same way when we got together. And 3 yrs later we just bought a 150 gal tall. His dream tank. Yeah my wife was the same after I started my community tank, Now she has her own Malawi cichlid tank, sounds like the mind altering powers of this hobby have taken another victim lol

My mother (who turned 80 this past June) was visiting. She was looking at our tanks and said, “I don’t understand fish as pets. You can’t cuddle them. They can’t love you back”.

I said, “But you garden. You feel happy because it’s beautiful. You’re proud because it’s thriving under your care. You don’t cuddle your plants, and they don’t love you back, right? But imagine if your plants did react to you. What if they saw the sack of fertilizer and clamored to be fed. What if when you looked at your plants, they looked back?” And she said, “Ohhhhh!”

Yes it's amazing how mind changes.
My wife is ok with me keeping fish but don't want me to have another tank yet I managed to squeeze in another 75 Gal in our living room (got a 46Gal already) but on the first day I got in she was really mad then few after I setup the tank and put a bunch of OBs
She was like " it's not bad hah they look really lively" I think these are better fish than your angels/guramis. Now she likes the Cichlids and wanted me to put the lights on when she is on the sofa. She wants to watch them not the TV😁

My fiance is the same way! We bought a 125 gallon tank for me, but he is always playing with it, and he's addicted to the ghost shrimp! He has to count them every night before he goes to bed, it's so cute!

I was describing one of my new wrasses for my reef (I like both saltwater and freshwater aquariums) with a freind and I described my new wrasse as "swimming around a lot, exploring the aquarium." He responded with "isn't swimming the only thing fish do?" I got mad at that. It's like saying "why would you wana baby? All they do is poop, eat, and cry a lot?" In both situations there is an emphatic NO to those questions. Do you guys sell friends and family on the hobby or just ignore if they don't get it?

I totally sell friends on it. And my family gets into fish quick when I am active in the hobby as well lol Hahaha so we both a positive and a negative response so I guess I should go with a neutral approach? The reef tank is so complicated that it takes long time to explain to even people who like fish (but are not keeping any at home).

I hope my wife gets there one day! But I gotta love her cause she does listen to me ramble about them, and she can name every fish I have in the tank! Hahahaha love this. My boyfriend loves our fish now he greets them like his children.

Does anyone have any idea what this is? It’s in a freshwater aquarium and seems more like diatoms than algae, but I’m really not sure. It’s not as bumpy as diatoms but just as difficult to get off. I guess I always thought it was some sort of algae. I just know it's basically impossible to get rid of. My dad has had it in his 55g tank for over 20yrs. Razor blade scraping gets it off the glass, mostly, but it gets into/on everything. Have even tried bleaching everything in his tank, but it still comes back. I hope for your sake you can figure out how to get rid of it early. His tank gets so bad sometimes that it's covering all the glass almost completely. It gets all over everything, even coating the surfaces of the gravel pieces.

Typically how long does it take wood to cure? This is horn wood a couple of 20” pieces and some 15” some smaller. I’ve had it for about 7 months. I only soaked it in salt and water to disinfect for a week but I think it’s still leeching tannins. Any idea? Thanks Personally I think it’d be a sick looking black water tank. Even with the more colorful disc in there, but I understand it’s all person to person.

I’m going to get this filter tomorrow. As long as everyone agrees with me. I have a 37 gallon tall top fin tank. I just have the HOB filter that came with it and it’s bad. I’m wanting to get this one tomorrow. I plan on getting the one for a 110 gallon tank. Two questions.

1-Is getting that size filter overkill?
2- Will that filter fit on the the tank? I didn’t know.
