Breeding Bettas for the First Time

This is my first time breeding bettas. I noticed my female was ready and wanted to give it a shot.
I set up a tank with an almond leaf, a few plants, and a heater. I covered it as well and left them alone. Leaving them alone was the hardest part. I did not feed them once i placed them in the breeding tank. After about 24 hours they spawned.
