Additional fish tank talk:
Platies are easy to breed! A week ago I gave Buddy a new home. It was one of the hardest things I had to do in this hobby. I've been fish keeping every since I was a little boy, my mother kept saltwater and my dad kept freshwater. I was exposed to all kinds of fish. Goldfish, Africans, seahorses, planted tanks and many other community type fish were many of the fish I was exposed to as a child.

My desire to keep fish on my own quickly grew and my passion to care for an animal on my own was something I always wanted. I've kept many different types of tanks, though I am no expert in anything. There is not a right way or a wrong way....most of the time. We all learned something different. We learn and grow from others. So now here I am now... An empty 75 gallon just taunting me to give it life again with the bright colors of our slimy friends. I need suggestions, what would you do? Saltwater, planted? Goldfish? Aggressive or peaceful? Breeding Platies and Platy fry are great.

P.S Buddy is doing very well, I recently got to see the new tank he is going in and the owner is someone I would trust to keep Buddys legacy going.

I would call taking fish from a tank like this Saving.. I told this PetSmart a while ago about another tank of their's with no surface movement, they moved fish to this tank instead. Again I told them about this tank, and recommended they moved the fish to a different tank with more surface movement. We will see.. https://youtu.be/VlE_GRWyD6E

nice! i went to a place here in mi and got like 13 fish, and 20 ghost shrimp for 40 bucks. ended up redoing my whole tank and giving my old fish to my ducks.

Jack Dempsey for small ones are less then 5 at petco or petsmart. Bigger they are more expensive. But you still have some beautiful healthy looking fish so you definitely can't complain! Good luck! (Price also varies depending on availability in area!) pregnant Platy Fish.

I was just given this tank. There’s 5 jewels, 2 red zebras and a clown pleco. How many fish ca I safely have in this tank? Can I add other species? I would like a blue zebra or a blue jack Dempsey thanks.
