Betta Splenden Breeding: Mating Process and Fry

The first part of this video will show you what it should look like when your Betta Splendens (also known as Siamese Fighting Fish) begin their breeding process. As they are locked in an embrace you will notice a shaking between the two bettas and then the female falls to the bottom of the tank and releases her eggs. The male betta fish then scoops up the eggs in his mouth and blows them into his bubble nest.

In the first part of the video you notice that the nest is almost nonexistent. The second half of the video shows you a nest that is in the later stages of development and some healthy fry squirming about in between the bubbles.

This video does not show you how to set up a breeding tank or how to get your pet fish to mate. It does however show you what the mating process will look like and also the end result (hopefully) of babies and eggs. I wish you success in your very own betta breeding.
