GROWING WALKING CATFISH IN A TANK
Now that we have a spare fish tank we decided to have a go at breeding catfish.
We introduced 2 female walking catfish (Clarias batrachus) & one male along with plenty of aquatic vegetation. Fingers crossed they get it on.
Not many people would attempt growing catfish at home without any kind of water treatment and no oxygen added to the water. So why are we doing it then?
Walking catfish are air-breathing fish & we have only put a few in together to breed so water quality & oxygen levels really aren't an issue. There's also plenty of aquatic plants to help keep the water clean & healthy.
We have more fish farming videos from Thailand that can be found here in this playlist below:

Catfish are easy to farm in warm climates, leading to inexpensive and safe food at local grocers. About 60% of U.S. farm-raised catfish are grown within a 65-mile (100-km) radius of Belzoni, Mississippi. Channel catfish (Ictalurus punctatus) supports a $450 million/yr aquaculture industry.[6] The largest producers are located in the Southern United States, including Mississippi, Alabama, and Arkansas.
In Asia, many catfish species are important as food. Several walking catfish and shark catfish species are heavily cultured in Africa and Asia."
