Endangered Fish Breeding Project

The Natural Resource Management Department at the Bristol County Agricultural High School is involved in several species of fishes ("Fishes" is correct when referring to multiple species.) Several of the species we breed are included on the IUCN Red List. The Ameca splendens featured in this video are found at only two sites in the wild, neither of which is very secure. Raising fish outdoors during the summer allows them to feed on algae and insect larvae. These natural foods are very nutritious.
