Guide on how to breed firemouth cichlids. Hey guys! Looking for some advice on live plants!
Backround info: 3 tanks. One 10 gal (4 platys and a baloon molly, and two 5 gal. (One beta in one tank and one with some purty feeder goldfish 1-2in upgrading soon) i acquired anf didnt have the heart to get rid of them) (seriously neglected fish and tank when i got it) Water changes weekly. And am making the attempting at switching over to live plants. I added marino moss balls to all 3 tanks today and a crested java fern and a tropica fern to my 10 gal.
I fed them the root tabs after gently planting them. What are some good tips an ideas to keeping them alive and lush. My plan is to replace all of my platics with live. Sand substrate in all 3 as well. Hey guys! This is my new Cichlid Betty. But I have no idea what kind she is. The shop I got her from called her a “fajita” Cichlid. I looked it up later to make sure I have good food for her but I didn’t see anything on them with her colors. Could someone help me identify this fish?? I would really appreciate it!
It looks very much like her! Do you know much about them? I would like to ask owners more than google because they know the fish up close!
Two of our convict cichlids (Carl & Karen) had babies! They are in a separate family tank. Any tips/tricks/advice on how to care for them?? We’re trying to learn as much as we can from YouTube and Google but it’s our first time with this. When should you separate the parents from the young? TIA
I have a mixed tank of mbuna. 55 gallon 16 fish. 4 of which are unsexed Maison reef zebra. What are my chances of these ones breeding in this tank? They are a
Little over an inch now. Still not showing any color at all, so not sure the male to female ratio on these 4 fish.
I know she/he is still very young but was wondering if one of you clever Cichlidian specialists would be able to hazard an ID ? I have one pink lightbulb so that affects the colouring a bit. It's extremely peaceful and easy going although the largest one in the crowd. Seems rather shy but loves to pose. My son has named her/him Rainbow.
Need some advice here. So this tank is 2 1/2 weeks running. Unseeded magnum 350 canister and a seeded aqeon 20 or 30 filter. Tank has been treated with stability for 7 days with prime. I have 2 small convicts in this 55g tank. This is my first time using stability to accelerate the cycle. I typically use tss and am used to seeing spikes. Also this tank smelllllsss bad. None of my tanks have ever smelled. So this tank is leaving me a little confused I'd say. This is my first canister filter. I think I'm doing something wrong with it so any advice and pointers would be amazibg
