Because they are beautiful, naturally! I admit I initially thought I could keep one in a tiny "aquarium" but soon learned better! Still, who could resist these gorgeous fish? My fiance had the idea of getting one first, well a couple weeks later, we came across a lady selling Blood Moon and he was the start for me. Now I have 9.
I got into bettas when i first to had moved to Alaska (I now live in Las Vegas) Im military and was living in the dorms, we were only allowed a tank and nothing else. I didn’t have any friends at the time so I first got some guppies. For whatever reason I was against bettas then I saw him half dying and just HAD to save him. Best decision of my life.
When I was little I'd try and convince my mom to get a Betta fish from Wal-Mart or Meijer or wherever and she'd never do it because she "didn't know how to take care of them" then I moved out and got my own house a couple years ago and decided I finally wanted to get one. Researched a ton cuz I didn't know how to care for them myself and came home with a simple red veiltail named Ed. I loved him so much a few weeks later I came home with a black crowntail named toothless. And long story short I have 19 and counting now. Lol. My boys are pictured below. Except for one who's too camera shy.
I got into bettas after wanting one for my office at work. I hadn’t had one since I was a kid so I researched their care, found this group and the rest is history! Its very hard to get a good picture so excuse the picture. But I got into Betta hobby as a coping way to deal with my depression and anxiety. My Beluga has helped me relax, yet enjoy taking care of this beautiful boy. I am not made of $$money$$ But I hope to win this giveaway as a thank you to beluga for being there and listening to me when nobody else would.
I got into bettas originally because someone recommended them to me to help keep my population of baby guppies and platies and mollies under control 🤣😂 months later and they've never eaten even one baby, and I have fallen in love with their colors and personality. I have 2 females, plan on getting one male and at least 3 more females and a new 20 gallon tank for a sorority.
Boyfriend had discovered black orchids and wanted one. So we got one. Then I had to have my own. I fell in love with one behind the sink at Petco that was being "treated" (I've posted the awful story before about how I got Odysseus) and I got mad they wouldn't sell him to me. So boyfriend drove me 90 minutes north to a different one and i found my first boy Drama. He brought me out of many major depression episodes by pushing me to get out of bed and feed him, clean his tank etc. We now have 12 bettas.
I had a betta as a child and I adored him and his rambunctious personality. During college, I toyed with the idea of getting one for a long time. My boyfriend (now husband) announced on Valentine's day that a betta would be my gift. Since then, I have enjoyed learning as much as I can about their care and spoiling them.
The winner of this does not need to be US only. Completely free giveaways can be difficult to include everyone everywhere due to some shipping costs. The prize of this will not be affected by that reason being I picked this prize.
I'm located in the states. Reason why a lot of mine will be geared to the states. Another mod is working on UK giveaways and the likes. It's a working progress but it's going. I'm personally trying to include everyone but doing it completely free for the winner isnt as easy as you think
I got my first Betta about 9 years ago, here on my arm. As a loner and someone who never had many friends they represented strength and being okay with being alone. I now have 2 real bettas and enjoy their quircky personalities so much!
