Estuary fish on woody habitat

Wooden habitat in our estuaries is an important component of a healthy ecosystem. Through desnagging and land clearing practices we have reduced the amount of wooden habitat available for fish. This video highlights the importance of wooden habitat as feeding, breeding and refuge areas for important recreational fish species.
DPI Fisheries is currently working on a number of projects to reintroduce wooden habitat into NSW estuaries.
