Today, Jeremy shares with us some secrets to breeding an endangered species called the Zebra Pleco (Hypancistrus zebra "L46"). Steps must be taken to keep this species of fish alive. It is up to people like Jeremy to ensure that this fish does not go extinct.
Although the preservation of this species is of most importance, there is some serious money to be made by breeding this fish. Commercial retailers are known to sell these fish for upward of $250 each. While only having small batches of babies, there is still a steep reward for hobbyist who can help keep this species alive for years to come.
