Spawning triggers are an instant change in an eco system that triggers fish inhabiting that eco system to spawn (breed). In this video I give 3 examples of how I was able to spawn one of my all time favorite fish, the panda corydora.

Tip #1: Comfort - If your fish are not comfortable in their aquarium you can forget about this fish spawning for you. The panda Corydoras were intimidated with the angel fish pair in the 29 gallon. Once I took the angels out and replaced them with guppies, the constant movement of the guppies relaxed the panda corys and they started to show personality and signs of breeding.

Tip #2: Where to lay the eggs - Now it time to think like the fish. Do some research on what the fishes natural habitat looks like, and where eggs may have been found in the wild. Also, research some other success stories from other breeders put your own spin on this vision. Replicating nature is key here!

Tip #3: Change in Temperature - Many fish will get thrown into spawning with a sudden change of the temperatute. I always lower the water going back into the tank for this reason. Also, instead of just filling the tank back up, i imitate rain with the water going back in because in nature its the cool rain that changes the eco systems temperature suddenly. Try these two together and you will have fish spawning in no time!!!
