This is my first time breeding bettas, this video was made to show my aquarium setup.
The male is a Super Delta Red Butterfly, and the female is a Red Super Delta.
I've conditioned the female betta for about a week, and I threw them in today (Feb. 10, 2010).
Hopefully the bubblenest should be built by the time I come back from school tomorrow.
There are a few live plants in there for the female to hide in and to culture infusorians for the fries, as well as an almond leaf. The tank equipment consists of a small heater and a sponge filter.
UPDATE: Unfortunately only a few fry managed to hatch. Most of them rotted away or the male ate them. I suspected that the male was too old (regular pet shop betta). I decided to get another pair later on (Red Dragon Halfmoon pair) and they did pretty well - yielded a lot of fry - and they were fed microworms on the first week and baby brine shrimp (BBS) on the second week.
