Conditioning Betta before Breeding

Dislike 0 Published on 16 Jul 2010

I've gotten a few people asking me how i tend to set up my tank and how i condition my bettas before i breed them. So made a little video just to show what my set up looks like.

Now so much as how i condition them, you can see i like to make them all visual to each other just put them all in separate containers. This way it makes them more energetic and notice the male has already started to make bubbles.

During there conditioning I tend to feed them good high grade foods or live foods such as blood worms.

Temperature, I set heater to around 85-86°F so around 30°C

Lighting, I use half and half lighting for my set up, since i have live plants i put a plant growth bulb on one side, and a normal full lighting bulb on the other side.

I take about two weeks to condition them, I found it to be the most successful timing.

I hope this helps and if you have any questions feel free to ask ^^
