HELP!!!
I came home to find this baby floating around out of its shell.
Shell has no holes and is hard!
What do I do?????

THANK YOU EVERY ONE! I've decided to let her go to sleep in the fridge and freeze from there. It seems the most humane and fastest.
I'll leave this post up for others to gain info.

No clue! I thought this happened to someone else awhile back though, it fell out but was still alive. I want to say it was something to do with its mantle detaching?

Honestly, I'd make my husband do it, I've never had to euthanize a snail, but I have had to euthanize a few fish, I had him do it though. http://www.molly-fish.com/how-to-ship-snails

It's a separation of the ligaments that holds the muscle to the shell. Usually a result of being picked off the glass to quickly. Not saying that's what happened here at all just saying that usually what causes it. But it's not survivable. I'm so sorry.

The muscle has detached from the shell...that can't really be fixed. You should put it out of its misery... Rereading that, it could come across as biting. That wasn't my tone or intention. Sometimes the least painful/traumatic death for the creature dying is much harder on the one doing the killing.

I researched it and was distressed to find out that the most merciful way to euthanize a dog or cat (if you do not have the hundreds of dollars to have a vet give them a shot to put them to sleep and then give them a shot to stop their heart) is to shoot them in the head with a gun. We just couldn't bring ourselves to do it and luckily were able to find someone to borrow the money from for the vet since our dog was in out right misery. I would have shot her though, if that was the only way to help her, no matter how painful it was for me.

woke up this morning to find my big Mama had crawled out of the tank thru a small opening and fell to the floor, cracking her shell. I have her in a small container with water. She has her snorkle out but otherwise not moving. Now what should I do????

There is spray you can buy for humans to spray on cuts which acts like a second skin, i would be inclined to try that or maybe see if you can speak to a vet?

Their is a snail rescue group on here, I'm sure I saw a snail with a "cast" type of piece on its shell. Like a piece of paper mache ... I can't remember if it was an aquatic snail though, I don't know how that would work ... ?
I'll see if I can find it ;)

Its pretty difficult to sex, males have a small skin fold near the base of their right antenna that's distinguishes them from females that I've found to be tried and true, the only issue is getting to see it before buying.

SKRIMP!!! 6 amanos(get em big, so your betta cant kill em!).... They'll go a long ways to preventing future outbreaks, once this is dealt with. A betta cannot survive on nibbling on a plant. They are insectivores. Feeding every few days is alright but they survived on the food you gave them, it had nothing to do with the plant. He didn't survive by nibbling on the plant, he probably didn't even get anything from the plant but you may have fed him so little that he felt the need to search for food elsewhere and had no other option but to try to eat the plant. If you kept the container he was in unheated and fed him little that would be the reason he lived so long. His metabolism would have been slow from the cold water and that often makes them live longer (though it does make them more susceptible to disease or illness).

We fed him every 2-3 days cause when we got him we tried feeding him every day and he wouldn’t eat it , the food was just sitting in there and then would sink to the bottom, we were wasting food and it was making the tank dirty his water was never even cold tbh, he sat on my dresser and I’m guessing my heater in my room kept his water warm but it was just about the same temp as my Bettas have now.
