Every Feb/March, Houston hosts Rodeo show. This year it started about early March 2010 and will run through third week of March 2010
It is the biggest Rodeo in the world. And it is all held indoor at a Reliant Stadium and nearby facilities. Houston Football Team, Texans, play inside the Reliant stadium that can hold 70,000 plus spectators. It is located right next to once famous AstroDome. The Reliant stadium is big enough that the Astrodome can sit inside with room to spare.
Houston Rodeo has many shows: Standard rodeo with cowboys wrestling steer, riding broncos, riding bulls and many other standard rodeo routine. The rodeo show is every nite of the Houston Rodeo (over about 15 plus days). The Rodeo is followed by a music show. I went to see Tim McGraw and Rascal Flats.
The Rodeo is also a learning experience for young Texans and others in America. The young ones raise cattle, pigs, chickens etc. which are auctioned off at this auction. Proceeds are used towards scholarship for these young folks.
This year, there is an amazing show: you see live births of calfs, piglets, rabbits ----you name it.
The Rodeo of course has the fun rides for the kids.
All in all, it is the Best Show in the World
