Pigs can't fly, but they can dive!

A Chinese farmer has taught his pigs to dive to improve the quality of their meat.

A farmer in central China's Hunan Province has trained his pigs to dive in a bid to increase their fitness and attract visitors to his rural home.

Huang Deming's pigs start to dive when they are only one-month old. They are made to line up and dive from a three-meter-high elevated platform into a pond at least three times every day.

Huang has trained around 60 pigs to perform the exercise since last year and six of his current herd have been diving regularly for four months.

The farmer says the leaner pigs earn him more money because they are healthier.
Another farm in the area has also begun exercising his pigs in hope of increasing the value of his herd. His animals' fitness regime involves the pigs wearing pedometers. They are only fed once they have exercised for an hour and the figure on the pedometers has risen to 2,000 steps.
