Ronald Evans is a pioneer in the field of nuclear hormone receptors. Hereby he made a tremendous contribution to the treatment of breast cancer, prostate cancer and leukemia, as well as osteoporosis and asthma. Additionally, his studies led to the finding of a new hormone that represents one of the most import advances in understanding problems arising from excess weight and obesity and the potential treatment of type II diabetes.
