Flat work exercise- Transitions

I thought I would share this very simple but very useful flat work exercise.
This is a very easy cone pattern to set up which has endless possibilities for exercises.
This video explains how to set up the pattern and then an example of an exercise which can be used for any horse at any level of training.
This exercise is transitions. It is great for a horse which is lazy/slower/resistant to the leg etc as it encourages the horse to move off a light leg aid with consistent repetition of the upward transition.
In opposition to this it is also useful for the fast/rushing/pulling/strong horse as it also has consistent repetition of the downward transition so encourages the horse to slow down, think about what it needs to do with its feet and body and balance, and then trot on again, slow down again, trot on again etc.
I tried my best to speak and explain as I was riding, I apologize for the wind and the machinery noise (my neighbours were doing some earth moving..also their dogs are a bit noisy at times), sorry about that, but I found that if you turn up the volume or listen with headphones and just do your best to ignore the background noise you can actually hear clearly what I am saying so I hope you can understand.
Feel free to comment for any clarification if you can't hear properly or if you want to ask anything at all about this exercise.
I will post a second exercise with this pattern soon, on circle work for flexion, suppleness and light aids off pressure.
