Lunging My Horses

Hi everyone! I found a really great tool to help my horses use their muscles more effectively, and I wanted to share it with you. It is called the Kavalkade HO lunge aid and it helps to encourage the horse to use different muscles while lunging..
I wanted to see if this would help my lunging to be used to make the exercise the most beneficial for my horses.
First I wanted to show you the difference between not using the lunge aid and then using it. It does make a difference. I can see without the lunge aid my horse Frisby is kind of strung out when he is lunging. He is just kind of going through the motion of trotting around me in a circle. He is a very good horse, and is really obedient, but he isn't using the muscles that he could.
But when I put the lunge aid on him, his neck went lower, he rounded out his back a bit more, and he also engaged his hindquarters. I think it is easy to see the difference.
Then I wanted to see how my other horse would react to the lunge aid, and he did really well to. He rounded his back a little more, engaged his hindquarters, and his neck was also lower.
I really like this tool. It acts like a surcingle with side reins without me having to put a lot of extra equipment on my horses while I am lunging, and I do see a benefit to using it to help build the muscles of the upper neck, back, and to engage the hind quarters.
