I'm practicing the Clinton Anderson Down Under Horsemanship Intermediate Series riding exercise called Post N' Circle. First you make sure you can trot or canter to a post and the horse stop right in front of it without dodging. Then once you can do that, you look at a post and head straight to it with your eyes on it and never coming off. When you get there, you go into a circle to the right or left. If the horse leans in on the circle you use the inside leg and outside rein to encourage him/her to move over and if the horse leans out or is drawn toward a magnet like a gait or friends, you use the outside leg and inside rein to put them back in the correct circle. This is supposed to help both straight steering and even circling without leaning or pulling away.
