Groundwork Inspiration for young Horses: Fun with 4 Cones
Like 1 Dislike 0 Published on 18 Sep 2019
This is a nice exercise for young horses to improve plenty of things without boring the horse:
- follow the feel of halter and lead rope
- circling
- changes of direction
- transitions, both up and downwards
- understanding about stopping
Most importantly it is a nice exercise that will cause the horse to be interested and mentally engaged. Because learning should be interesting and not boring drill with a young horse.
By the way: The horse is Gwayne, a 3 year old Welsh Cob girl, who at this point is with me since 3 weeks for her start under saddle. So, of course it's not perfect!
