Groundwork With Horses To Have Your Horse Be With You : The Tree Slalom Groundwork Exercise!

I've got a selection of groundwork videos online and it occurred to me that I should put up a series of exercises that I do with horses when I can both out and about, in the arena or just about anywhere really. Groundwork is really really important and starts at "hello". From there you're always teaching your horse about yourself and how you feel about them and how they are allowed to feel about you. Anyways, this particular exercise is great for agility, exercise and just getting your horse to pay attention to you because tehy have to.
So without further ado, here's a quick clip showing what the tree slalom groundwork exercise is. It can be done at a walk or trot. Any faster and both you and the horse will just have trouble. This isn't about speed though, this is about being accurate with the lead line just never going tight. Horses are very agile and turn on a dime if they so choose. Doing this slalom exercise gives them a great opportunity to get some good practice in and also gets them with you. Perfect for the distracted horse!
