The TreadWheel - Run Without Pain!

The TreadWheel (aka the Generacer) is an exercise machine that allows a walker, jogger or sprinter to move at any speed to improve stamina, strength and foot speed. It provides "ultra low impact" so that injured athletes can rehabilitate injured backs and weight bearing joints. Originally an energy conservation device, the TreadWheel in motion turned a generator that made electricity that charged rechargeable batteries; these batteries, in turn, could be used to run small appliances. ( A one and a half hour walk at 3 mph produces 0.3 Kwh of electricity ).
Pictured in the video is the first prototype. Working with the device surprisingly improved the foot speed of users. Furthermore, runners with hip, knee and foot injuries were able to run at full speed without experiencing any pain. The USC track team used the machine successfully. Inger Miller, the young lady in the video, rehabiliated a stress fracture of the foot and went on to win a gold medal in the 1996 Summer Olympics in the 4X100 relay. Quincey Watts won 2 gold medals in the '92 Games in the 400m hurdles and the 4X400 relay. Coach Jim Bush, formerly of UCLA and USC, hall-of-fame track coach, believes the TreadWheel to be THE most effective sprint training device he's encountered in his 50 year career as a trainer of collegiate, olympic and professional athletes.
