Corgi Yoshi Cloverleaf Work on Sheep and Goats

In herding you can "anchor" stock on hay and practice pushing your dog out laterally. It's loosely called a "cloverleaf" exercise because of the pattern the dog typically goes it. Their natural inclination is to go in too close to the stock and you push them back out. The sheep are far more sensitive to the dog being too close than the goats are. Having goats mixed in with the sheep calms the sheep down. And yes he got to do real herding later.
