Pug is a small dog breed. AKC has placed them in “Toy group”. Pugs are considered as "lap dogs" since they spend a lot of time sitting on the couch or owner's lap.
Pugs were first originated in China. Pugs were bred to be "lap dogs" and were often seen sitting on the laps of royalty in ancient china. Pugs are believed to have reached Europe in the 16th century.
