Cookie Stretching Therapeutic Exercise - Canine Physical Rehabilitation

Cookie stretching is a wonderful exercise that most dogs and owners can do. It is especially great for older dogs to help increase their flexibility and reduce stiffness all along the neck and spine. This exercise can be done standing, sitting or lying down. Some dogs may be more flexible than others, which is totally fine. Just stretch your dog as much as s/he is willing and comfortable.
These exercises are a great way to physically condition your dog but also help strength your bond with them and provide them with mental stimulation. Exercises should only be performed after receiving a diagnosis and prescription for physical rehabilitation from a licensed veterinarian to ensure that the exercises are safe for your pet's particular condition. Windsor Animal Hospital boasts the only certified canine physical rehabilitation practitioner in the California North Bay Area.
