Step Back Recall Exercise

This little exercise is great for helping Reactive and Nervous dogs get use to dogs walking towards them and slowly getting in their personal space.
We start with a Dog in Sit next to the handler and then we slowly get the dog use to having a dog walk towards them, when they get close the handler of the other dog quickly recalls their dog away and of the dog in the sit does not react, then the dog is rewarded with a treat. Each time we slowly close the distance.
This is also a 2 point exercise as it gets the Dog walking towards the Dog use to walking towards other dogs. Again as the dog gets close to the other dog its quickly called away and rewarded.
This exercise is beneficial to both dogs and once both dogs are use to it one way we the. Switch roles so the dogs are doing the same thing the other dog was.
This is a great confidence building exercise.
